Fannie Mae predicts home sales decline.

06 is looking to be a tough year in the mortgage biz. My take is that this is that time in the cycle when we finally get to wash out some of the riff-raff in our industry.

“Fannie (FNM) economists said their ‘best guess’ is that sales will fall 8.4%, to 7.62 million units. That would be the first annual decline since 2000, when national sales dipped slightly, said David Seiders, chief economist of the National Association of Home Builders.”
