If you listened to our first podcast, you’d know I’m a huge fan of LinkedIn. For those not familiar, think of LinkedIn as a Myspace for serious people. Another way to look at it is as a dynamic Rolodex that automatically updates it’s self. Overall, it’s a great way to connect with other professionals.
If you’re not a member, chances are, you’ll still know half a dozen people who are. And once you connect with them, you’ll be able to see who they’re connected to as well. It’s a simple yet powerful tool for increasing your sphere of influence.
Another way to network on LinkedIn is through their group function. I was granted permission over the weekend to start a networking group for lenderama readers. The group is simple enough. It’s a list of mortgage professionals across the nation who want access to each other. This helps to grow your own network, and communicate with professionals across the country.
The lenderama networking group is open to:
Loan originators, or anyone who works for a company that processes, originates, or services mortgages.
Real estate professionals, appraisers, title professionals, or mortgage insurance professionals.
Vendors who sell products to the mortgage industry will be considered at my discretion.
