Mobile, New Application Alerts.

by Todd Carpenter on February 1, 2005

Each of the major specialized web site hosts serving the mortgage industry (LION, Myers. Elli Mae etc…) offer a very powerful yet poorly used tool, the ability to notify it’s clients of new applications posted to their web site. When a new application comes in, it’s saved on a secure location with the host, then an email alert is sent out to the broker.

For brokers that have an always-on web connection and spend all of their time in the office, this is sufficient. For brokers that are on the run however, this solution can mean an application may sit for several hours before the broker is aware of its existence. The solution is to set your web account up to send those email alerts to your cell phone or pager. Most digital phones and pagers have this capability. Contact your service provider for details. If your office shares in monitoring incoming apps (floor duty) then another option is to buy a pager set up specifically for the alerts. The broker keeps that pager with him while on floor duty.
